Currency Converter

Live rates required

Currency conversion needs a real-time exchange-rate source. This site does not hard-code static rates, because presenting outdated rates as current would be misleading. To enable this converter, supply live rates via an API (e.g. a free rates endpoint) and call window.ECC_CONV.setCurrencyRates(rates) with an object like {USD:1, EUR:0.92, GBP:0.79, JPY:157, AUD:1.5, CAD:1.36} (values relative to USD).

Until then, this page intentionally shows no numbers.

Currency conversion is fundamentally different from the other units here: exchange rates are not fixed physical constants — they change every second based on markets. A "1 USD = 0.92 EUR" figure from a month ago is already wrong.

For that reason, this converter is structured to accept live rates from an external API rather than shipping with baked-in numbers. Once a rates source is configured, the same input/select/result UI as the other converters will appear and update in real time.

Frequently asked questions
